OODA had the chance to redesign a two-storey apartment near the sea. the ‘227 flat’ was given a flexible floorplan, combining its compartmentalized program into larger spaces flooded with daylight. the original dated surfaces were replacedwith natural wood on the doors, furniture, stairs and floors. the walls and ceiling were painted white to reflect light and help the interior feel larger. the open staircase joins both levels and contains a net which extends the upstairs office by providing an additionalhammock-like structure for repose with the ocean as a backdrop, viewable from the large window separating the work function fromthe exterior terrace.
