In the heart of the old roman, arab and medieval town, there is a XIXth century facade concealing and displaying a lot of this neighbourhood history.
The 1st floor of this building was in 2008 a wide blank space, used for stoking room of the ground-floor store. Therefore, the commissioned work for the interior design was entirely free except for the obvious perimeter and staircase position, as well as the entrance spot.
The new design sets the social area through the wide space between entrance, kitchen and living room. The corridor shows its way by unaligned walls and steeped ceilings, providing spacial tension for separating social and private. The volume that draws this narrowed game holds 2 bathrooms besides the kitchen and it also opens the little hall between laundry and the 3 bedrooms.
The interior spaces confined with exterior facades are dressed up with replicas of the old wooden frames and skirting boards, on the contrary of the corridor and its infrastructures that are unequivocally finished in a contemporary way.
