The Rising Sun Apartment was designed by S Squared Architects Pvt. Ltd, who are architects in New Delhi. The brief for this home was very specific: to create a home that is bright, happy and cheerful. The homeowners wanted to designers to create a space that was unencumbered by anything. The result was a very laidback and casual home that is open, airy and bright! This home is definitely an inspiration for those who want something bright, but don’t want to be too adventurous. Here is how you can take risks, but safely, to create the home of your dreams.
The first thing that catches the eye is this fantastic mural. The mural was created specially for this home. Dominating the entire space, the colours of the mural are bright drawing you in. The overall layout of the living space is very open and laidback. The designers have kept minimal walls in order to create an open floor plan.
The use of minimal walls has also ensured that the apartment appears big and spacious. The living area is furnished with simple wooden sofas, a beautiful wooden center table, along with a side table and two modern-style pouffes. From this angle, we can also see that the TV wall uses an industrial-style finish that matches with the entire design of the apartment.
We absolutely love these modern-art style lamps that are hanging from the ceiling. They do look quite eclectic and unusual. The entire kitchen has been furnished in a unique way as well. Colourful tiles are used to create the back splash. The same tiles, in combination with wooden finish tiles, have been used to create a space for the kitchen island. The furniture has been kept all white, so there is a perfect harmony in the design.
When the entire house is so well designed, why should the bedroom be left behind? The bedroom isn’t walled-off from the rest of the house. A separator is used in this case. The design and decor of this space is quite simple, but looks very beautiful. The bedroom has been decorated in a way that you always feel at home when you enter this space.
A close-up of the mural is a must. This artistic masterpiece is also home to the unique dining table. The picnic-style seating arrangement is perfect for the small family that lives here. Since this is an apartment, the space is limited. Using such a dining table saves space and looks different.
The designers are not afraid to be bold and take risks. This is exactly why the bathroom has been designed in this way. There are two steps leading up to the bathtub. There is also a window with a view! Black granite, in combination with the colourful tiles, makes this the perfect bathroom.
