They say envy is a mortal sin. Well, if that's the case, then we know where we're going come judgement, as we are besotted with the seven homes that we are going to show you now and so jealous of whoever owns them! Designed by incredibly talented architects, each of these stunning rural homes has charm beyond their footprint and unique touches that are really inspiring us to get out into the country more! Even if you think you know what style of home you like best and even if you already own it, take a look at these amazing spaces, just to be sure you're not missing out on something even more beautiful!

1. A contemporary cabin.

About as far from traditional wood cabins as you can get, this amazing contemporary take on a woodland home has us so green with envy that we could blend in with the trees themselves! One-storey and open plan, with natural cladding, we would LOVE to live here!

2. A dream eco-house.

If you thought eco-living was all about living in swamps and hugging trees, think again! These days, it's about clever architecture and sustainable building techniques that produce incredible gems such as this one. Just look at that roof and there's even a terrace! We're ready to get back to nature here.

3. A cathedral to modern rustic aesthetics.

There's no denying that this space is chic and cutting edge, but combine that with the cathedral-like ceiling height and you have something far and away more unusual than most rural homes! The simplicity of the décor is incredible and really makes you appreciate the surrounding, which are captured and framed beautifully by the windows.

4. With the perfect hub.

The kitchen is the heart of any cottage home and this space is utter perfection! Clean, fresh and wonderfully warm thanks to all the natural wood, it's the tangibly social feels that is really making us yearn to spend happy days cooking and eating here. With a huge island in place too, it would be easy to enjoy company as you cooked too.

5. Modern rustic with minimalism too.

Cottages can evoke images of cluttered spaces, cosiness through claustrophobia and an influx of patterns, but that 's not how every cottage has been decorated, as this one proves! Breathtakingly simple with the white walls and polished concrete floor, It's been left to the wooden dining table and sofa cushions to add in a little country charm and we love the finished result. Can we move in please?

6. All about the details

Have you ever walked into a house and marvelled at the feel and ambiance? If you have, you'll have probably also looked around and found amazing details that directly contributed to it and that's what this cottage has, in abundance! Wicker light shades, colourful cushions, wooden furniture and fresh produce out on display all help to create a modern but definitively cottage vibe, which we are a little obsessed with!

7. Creative use of space.

Many cottage are so small that you have to be a little creative and think outside the, literal, box when it comes to decorating. This home really doesn't make things easy, but we love the easy sitting room, hidden dining corner and languid hammock that overlook a handy terrace. Small and cosy can be so beautiful, when you make it your own.

The only problem we now face, is trying to decide which of these homes we want the most!
