We at homify have decided to put out another – hopefully useful – article featuring inspiring tiny space designs: bedrooms, the one room we all have in some form or another!

If that form happens to be tiny, good news, there are plenty of inspiriting ways to make it not only super comfy but downright stylish. From modern minimalist and mod to classic or rustic, we are confident you’ll find a couple tiny boudoir tips to copy from this list.

1. Add a colour pop

Now this isn’t the tiniest bedroom on our list, but its design point works well enough for tiny spaces: add a bold, light accent wall and watch your little room come into its own. A

s seen in this picture, turquoise—completely on-trend—has been chosen and works to make this small bedroom look grand, a mixture of 1930s elegance and a rich modern colour palette. A few other takeaway tips: sheer curtains add whimsy and create a feeling of extra air in a smaller space.

2. Shelves are stylish

Sleeping spots become so much more sleep-able when they are clean, meaning well-organised. And there is no better way to organise things than by installing plenty of shelves.

Shelves can themselves be the thing that sets off your room’s style, as seen in this example: gorgeous warm wood has been moulded into a veritable do-it-all piece: bed, closet, bookshelf and nightstand. And because the wood is so gorgeous, the design so well-executed, the bedroom really requires little else besides a few small décor items to pack its punch.

3. Wood

It is difficult to overstate how modish the rustic material, wood, has become. It is being featured in virtually every design genre—and with good reason: it’s warm and versatile.

What can it do in a tiny bedroom? Have a look. Its natural charm, when added totally to walls and ceilings, takes the small space and makes it feel like a cosy tree house. And once the work of putting your wood in has been finished, all the decorating afterwards is so easy—just add colour in the form of bedding and greenery, and your bedroom is instantly wonderful.

4. Build it up

It is common wisdom that, when you are short on space, you build up.

In this tiny bedroom example, things have been built a bit higher, the bed hangs aloft overseeing the rest of the space, while a whole other room has been created underneath it, complete with a roomy workspace and chill space. Some fun décor tips: Twinkling lanterns and soft, warm pastels go a long way to make a tiny bedroom a total classic.

5. Textured walls

Again we see using wood to do a built-in bed works well. But the thing to copy in this room besides is the walls and ceiling: painted and finished with a suede texture—optimising the natural snugness of the small space, for a finished look and a feeling of being swaddled by your rich surroundings.

Additional points of note: a three toned colour palette that unifies the space, creating additional harmony.

6. All white plus some

One can’t-fail look is the all-white one. The concept is as it sounds, and as the pictures shows: paint everything white—walls, floors, furniture—as if you are making your room into a canvas.

To really go for it, make even your bed’s comforter and pillows white. Then, add bold coloured accents like throw pillows or a single painting and rug. The result is always a bedroom that looks polished, fresh and more spacious than it actually is.

7. Light it up

Our last room to copy shows what has become a very popular styling method: putting track lighting around furniture. The effect of doing this is that it showcases an item, making it more impressive and opening up the space around it. In the case of this little room, the circumference of the loft bed has been lit up, as has its underside, illuminating the sofa space beneath with a soft blue light. If you are look for a simple upgrade to your mini space, this kind of lighting is a great option; it’s fairly cheap and packs an immediate impact.
