"Pied-à-terre" in Lisbon, INSIGHT - Interior Architecture and Design INSIGHT - Interior Architecture and Design Casas ecléticas

With a privileged location next to the Cathedral, this apartment dating from the early nineteenth century, is about 60m2 and includes a living room with reading area, living, dining and sleeping (on the sofa with a French bed), a bedroom with a closet, kitchen and W.C.In a month of work, we closed unnecessary doors, a closet was created, the old floor was recovered, it was restored the existing cage structure, we replaced the kitchen and new doors were made equal to the original design. We created an elegant space, where comfort is of the upmost importance. All furniture was designed by us and combined with some antique pieces. The furniture in manual rattan, lacquered in white like the headboard with 2.5m in length or the sideboard for TV, are combined with other pieces in chestnut wood.We chose golden metal for all the door handles, lamps, and we bought antiques handles for some of the furniture we designed. The mural in this project was fundamental. In the WC. The intention was not to destroy the walls in existing microcement, but to give a current imprint always inspired à l'époque. In the hall we use again decorative wall painting, applied to panels and inspired by the “welcoming figures” of the eighteen century Palaces. We hope you enjoy this Petit Palais as much as the pleasure we had, thinking, designing and delivering it to the owners!
